Fundraising campaign: Drinking water wells in Malawi

25.06.2021

In 2019, kybun supported the Charity Water organisation with a financial donation as part of its Christmas project. This was used to build a drinking water well in the village of Chilombola.

The American organisation Charity Water funds water programmes in 26 countries around the world - in Africa, Asia, Central and South America. Water scarcity, poverty, political stability and strong partner organisations play a role in their choice of work. The organisation focuses on providing first access to clean water in rural communities. Since its founding, 100% of donations have flowed directly into funding the drinking water projects. Thanks to donations from kybun and its employees in 2019, a drinking water well has now been put into operation in the village of Chilombola in Malawi, Africa. This means that 223 villagers now have access to clean drinking water, which has an important impact on health and far beyond, especially for the women and girls who traditionally have to carry water for hours over long distances.
