The making of your kybun shoe – Part IX

25.05.2021

In part nine of our series «The making of your kybun shoe» Olaf talks about his job and how he attaches the upper shoe to the sole by hand.

Our Olaf has been a mainstay of the kybun production for over 8 years. In his interview, he shows us how he applies the primer to the sandals with precision and after a short drying time attaches the upper shoe to the sole. The whole process requires skilled craftsmanship to ensure that the adhesive is not visible on the finished shoe when it is completed. Take a look behind the scenes and experience how the Swiss air-cushion shoe is made by hand in approximately 40 steps.
